Supporting local public media organizations
ERPM’s mission is to increase the effectiveness and significance of local public media organizations, by connecting you with one another and experts in our industry. We also represent our members’ interests to CPB, NPR and more.
ERPM is a non-profit, member-based association of public radio stations in the eastern third of the U.S. Membership is open to FCC-licensed non-commercial educational radio stations, including university-based and independent community stations and statewide networks.
Membership is primarily comprised of stations in these states: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.
Membership is free for FY25, in recognition of the challenging financial times for stations. In future years, ERPM dues will be affordable for all members – $250/year for stations with less than $5 million in annual revenues, $500 for stations with more than $5 million, based on NFFS calculations that are certified by CPB.
In a system with lots of organizations representing public media, we believe regional organizations like ours play an important role:
Connection: Public radio stations are facing unprecedented pressures from many fronts. ERPM is an easy and cost-effective way to connect with station leaders across our region to share challenges and potential solutions.
Leadership: NPR is struggling through challenges of its own, making it necessary for stations to provide more leadership to the system through regional organizations like ERPM. We speak on behalf of and advocate for our members to CPB and NPR.
Education: Webinars and other educational opportunities for your station are included at no cost with your membership. Our most recent webinar featured RRC experts explaining the current state of public radio ratings and what stations can do to improve them.
