Susan Rogers is the Executive Vice President and General Manager of WXXI Public Broadcasting, where she has been for over twenty years. Prior to her work in public media, she was a recognized leader in educational technology and distance learning, in her past position at RIT as Associate Professor and Director of the Educational Technology Center.
Susan was instrumental in leading WXXI through its digital transition and expanding the joint licensee’s services to meet the needs of wider and more diverse audiences. She also played a crucial role in securing a broadcast partnership with the University of Rochester and WRUR as well as Hobart and William Smith Colleges and WEOS/WITH which has extended the reach of WXXI’s radio services. Most recently, Susan assisted with the station’s long-term affiliation agreement with the Little Theatre, to further develop WXXI’s public service on-air, on-line, on-stage and on-screen. Susan has also led national and state-wide efforts in the development of collaborations and consolidations as a means to strengthening local journalism in public media.
Susan has a B.F.A. and M.S. Ed. from Alfred University and a Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction & Change from the University of Rochester.
