LaFontaine Oliver

LaFontaine E. Oliver joined WMFE 90.7 News as President & General Manager in May 2013.  Prior to joining WMFE Oliver served as the General Manager of WEAA-FM in Baltimore, MD for seven years where he successfully increased station funding, listenership and programming.  He worked in commercial radio as well for more than a decade for companies such as Radio One and XM Satellite Radio.  In addition, LaFontaine has launched numerous national programs successfully and headed initiatives aimed at increasing and expanding service to underserved audiences.

LaFontaine is a native of Washington, DC where he served in a variety of community and broadcast organizations prior to locating to Central Florida.  Statewide he serves as a member of the Florida Public Broadcasting Service Board.  Nationally he serves on the Executive Committee of Eastern Region Public Media (ERPM) as Vice Chair.

LaFontaine holds a MBA from the University of Baltimore graduating cum laude, and a BA in Business Administration from the University of Miami.
