Jody Evans

Jody Evans joined Western North Carolina Public Radio, Inc. as President & CEO in June 2010. Prior to joining WCQS Evans worked for nearly 20 years in various positions in commercial and public media – both radio and television. She was most recently the program director at KUT in Austin and served as the Director of Programming at Vermont Public Radio for more than 10 years.
Active within the industry, she is currently the chair of the North Carolina Public Radio Association and on the Board of Directors for Eastern Region Public Media. Evans is the former Chair of the Board of Directors for the Public Radio Program Directors Association.
Within her community, Evans is currently on the Board of Directors of Motion Dance Theater and volunteers in her daughter’s school.
Evans is regularly requested to advise on national programs by NPR, American Public Media and Public Radio International. She is the recipient of various awards, most recently the Gracie Allen Award for Outstanding Community Radio Programming and a Gabriel Award for Vermont Reads!
Evans has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
